Hard to believe the summer is just about over. I pretty much spent it holed up at my office doing work, which isn't necessarily a bad thing. I've been on a my bike a little bit, but nowhere near the time I'd like to spend. I need to make a commitment to spend a bit more time on my bike over the fall and winter so that I can participate in some races next year. Wish me luck!
Look me up if anyone makes it to New York.

Monthly Ride
Today I finished my ride for the month. On the road at 6:55 and home at 12:30. Believe it or not, today was the first time on my bike this year without arm and knee warmers. Sad.

Long Time
Wow, it has been awhile since I've posted anything. I haven't been riding much at all lately, as I've been rather busy with work. I do plan on helping Tim Finkel at Boyne so I'll perhaps have a chance to maybe touch a bike again.
I spent a few days down in Orange Beach Alabama with Tikky and some friends. It was nice to get away for a few days.

Nostalgia
Slow to post, but haven't been doing a whole lot except for work and sleep. I sent in my entry for the Single Speed World Championships held in Durango this year. I'm also trying to determine if I can swing a spring trip to ride bikes somewhere. Let me know if anyone has something in the works.
So I caught up with an old friend and found this old photo of my from my first Village Bike Shop stint. I believe this is from spring or summer 1995. Notice the receeding hairline I'm already rocking.

Thanksgiving 2008 Bike Ride
I checked the http://www.nycmtb.org/ forum to see if there were any Thanksgiving Day rides and sure enough the first annual Cunningham Park Thanksgiving Day ride was scheduled. Cunningham is a Queens Borough park with approximately 6.5 miles of single trail. I think I could ride to the park but don't know the route. It consists of some technical sections, a pump track and some jumps. A pretty large crew actually turned out and it was a great way to start the day.

Check out the huge air.

As you may or may not know, my wife is living in Chicago for the time being (her work is implementing a massive computer system change and she did not want to leave during the change). Anyway, she is here to visit for the long weekend. We spent most of the day yesterday hanging out then met some friends for Thanksgiving dinner at a restaurant. Good times with no clean up required.

Been Awhile
I guess it's been awhile since I've last posted as reminded by Mike C. who I haven't yet called back. I've been really swamped at work the past few weeks which I guess is a good thing. I wish I had some cool stuff to report other than my efforts to receive a return call from the infamous imacdank are not going well.
What else can I report? I've seen some shows over the past month which were fun and ate some really tasty Japenese noodles last week.

Bicycle Rides
Well I'm sort of settled into the new place meaning my bikes are out of their boxes and have been put to use. Last weekend I went further out on Long Island to ride on some trails. Surprisingly the trails were very similar to Michigan single track. I felt right at home.
Today, I rode into Manhattan on the road bike, met up with a guy and went over the George Washington Bridge into New Jersey to start a ride It's really insane that you cross the bridge, make a right turn and you are out of the city. We rode about 20 miles North sort of along the Hudson River to Nyack, New York. I totally expected bombed out roads like those in Detroit and Chicago, but fortunately I was wrong.
